Cordyline fruticosa or Cordyline terminalis commonly known as Ti (kï in Hawaiian) is commonly found throughout the pacific Islands, Tropical Asia, Australia and it grow's on all major Hawaiian Islands except Kaho'olawe.
Early Polynesians looked to the Ti plant for Divine power to repel evil spirits from the area and bring good fortune and luck to the household. All though the Ti plant has had many uses in Polynesian culture such as for Hula skirts or thatching for homes, today the leaves are commonly used to wrap food in for cooking similar in fashion to how banana leaves are used for the same.
